Stampex 2024 dates selected

The Philatelic Traders’ Society, host of the Stampex stamp show and exhibition, has set the dates for the 2024 show: Oct. 23-26 at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London.

In early November, Isobel Klempka, public relations and marketing consultant for the Philatelic Traders’ Society, shared with Linn’s an interesting top 10 list of moments from 2023 that I thought readers would enjoy.

And if England might be in your travel plans for next October, it’s a perfect opportunity to add a stamp show visit to a vacation.

Here are the 10 “Best Moments from Stampex 2023” as shared by the Philatelic Traders’ Society and lightly edited by the Linn’s editorial team:

1. Seeing the British Guiana 1¢ Magenta, presented by Stanley Gibbons.

2. Attending the excellent talks in the Stampex auditorium, including presentations by George James, Graham Beck and Todd Gantzer.

3. Seeing so many happy collectors engaging with more than 60 Philatelic Traders’ Society members, and hearing the buzz of philatelic chatter as it echoed around the show.

4. Catching up with friends at one of the society meetings that ran daily.

5. Celebrating World Postcard Day along with a Postcrossing meetup.

6. Browsing the Philasearch.com click and collect Stampex online store to shop at home and then shop some more at Stampex.

7. Bringing the family along to Stampex to enjoy a wide range of wonderful experiences for children, including a free stamp auction and Stampex bug hunt for children thanks to the Stamp Active team.

8. Watching and getting involved in filming by the amazing Exploring Stamps team (Graham Beck and Laura Beck) as they captured footage for seven videos.

9. Appreciating Stampex sponsor Spink’s unique stamp art on its stand by artist Ann Carrington.

10. Exploring the very best of philately coming together, including fantastic stand concepts by the Royal Philatelic Society London, the Global Philatelic Network and the Great Britain Philatelic Society, and the best-dressed stand winner, Thematix.
