UN Expo, a World Series of Philately exhibition and stamp show devoted to United Nations philately, is back for the first time since 2017.

UN Expo 2023 will take place Oct. 20-21 at the American Philatelic Center, 100 Match Factory Place in Bellefonte, Pa.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission and parking are free.

The two-day show is sponsored by United Nations Philatelists Inc., in association with the American Philatelic Society. It will feature competitive exhibits, dealers with specialized U.N. material, and U.N. collecting presentations.

The last UN Expo took place in 2017 and was the organization’s first all-U.N. World Series of Philately exhibition.

In a welcome letter, chairmen Greg Galletti and Larry Fillion expressed gratitude to the many members who worked to bring the expo to fruition.

“In addition to a wonderful exhibit of stamps, postal history, and ephemera, we are grateful to the experts who have taken the time to prepare and deliver scholarly and interesting presentations related to UN philately. From forerunners, to thematics, to postal history, to historical topics such as relief for refugees, and human rights, there is surely a topic of interest to all in attendance.”

On Friday at 10:45 a.m., Scott and Linn’s editor-in-chief Jay Bigalke will present on the Scott Specialized Catalogue of United Nations Stamps.

The U.N. Postal Administration will host a pre-release ceremony for its upcoming (Nov. 7) definitive stamp honoring Marie Curie. The event is scheduled for Friday at 11:30 a.m.

Ron Klimley will give a presentation on protest and advocacy postcards sent to the United Nations on Friday at 3:45 p.m.

A celebration banquet will occur Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Titan Hollow, 2042 Axeman Road in Bellefonte. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased in advance or at the show.

United Nations Philatelists Inc. will hold its annual meeting on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Additionally, attendees will have a chance to see a special exhibit called “U.N. In Action Film” during the event.

The expo website includes a list of exhibitors, their exhibit titles and descriptions, hotel and travel information, a full schedule of events at the show, information about U.N. philately, and additional details.

The American Philatelic Center is home to the APS headquarters and the American Philatelic Research Library.

The APS circuit sales office, the library, and the APS Headsville post office will all be open on both days of the show.
