In mid-June, Unitrade Associates, a Canadian distributor of supplies for the stamp and coin hobbies, announced that owner Gino Casa will retire in November 2024 and has put the business up for sale.

Casa’s daughter, Gina Casa, told Linn’s Stamp News June 13 that her father has been in manufacturing and product sales for more than 45 years and has been the sole owner of Unitrade since the late 1980s.

“We plan to find a buyer who will take over not only our products, but continue to carry and supply the brands we have all these years,” Gina said.

Among the philatelic brands Unitrade carries is the Scott line of stamp catalogs published by Amos Media, the parent company of Linn’s.

Unitrade currently has a licensing agreement with Amos Media to use the Scott catalog numbers in the Unitrade Specialized Catalogue of Canadian Stamps.

Unitrade, which is based in Toronto, Ontario, announced the planned sale on its website.

“It has been our pleasure serving the stamp and coin collecting community throughout the years and hope that we have left an enduring legacy with our quality products and one-of-a-kind customer service,” the announcement said.

“For more than 30 years, Unitrade has been the major Canadian importer and distributor of stamp and coin albums, accessories and publications from around the globe,” according to a statement on the website.

“We are also a major manufacturer, publisher and prime source of supplies and literature for stamp and coin dealers across Canada,” the statement said.
