UNPA stamp pane to honor ASDA

Apr 28, 2021, 2 AM

The United Nations Postal Administration will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the American Stamp Dealers Association on a pane of stamps with se-tenant labels.

The pane is slated to be issued Oct. 23 at the ASDA National Postage Stamp Show at the New York Hilton Midtown, 1335 Avenue of the Americas, New York, N.Y.

The show, which will run through Oct. 26, also will celebrate the centennial. ASDA was established in 1914.

The UNPA pane will contain 10 stamps for use from U.N. headquarters in New York City.

Another pane to be issued on the same day will honor the 45th anniversary of the UNPA office at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, and will include 10 stamps valid for use from that post office.

As previously announced, UNPA will honor the 35th anniversary of its post office in Vienna, Austria, on a pane to be issued May 8.

UNPA announced the ASDA and UNPA Geneva panes in the first 2014 issue of Fascination, its philatelic bulletin for stamp collectors.

In the same issue of Fascination, UNPA reported the following new issue dates as part of its 2014 stamp program: March 17 for the International Day of Happiness set of six, March 27 for four Flag series stamps, June 6 for definitives and postal stationery, and Aug. 21 for the International Year of Family Farming set of six. ¦
