A stamp-filled start to the new year

The list of new U.S. stamps being issued in January has expanded, so we've compiled an update based on the latest information. Many of these new issues are being created because of the postage rate increase that takes effect Jan. 22, which will raise the price of mailing a domestic 1-ounce letter to 45¢.

Our features this month include a look inside a postmark museum in Ohio, details about hot beverages on new stamps worldwide, information about France's stamp series featuring the capitals of Europe, and two U.S. postal tributes to one living American astronaut.

Don't forget to cast your vote in Linn's 2011 U.S. Stamp Popularity Poll at www.linns.com.
