Are you chasing the elusive upright Jenny Invert sheet?

Have you been searching for one of the 100 elusive upright Jenny Invert sheets that the United States Postal Service produced in 2013? Just 23 of the 100 have been discovered thus far, according to an unofficial census kept by Linn's Stamp News.

One of the 23 upright Jenny sheets was discovered by a resourceful collector who got to tell his story in front of an audience of millions.

In its Feb. 5 Collecting Culture feature on USPSStamps, the U.S. Postal Service profiles David Robinson, who brought national attention to stamp collecting when he was interviewed on a CBS Sunday Morning segment Jan. 18. Robinson and his wife Gail eventually found an upright Jenny sheet, after purchasing more than 3,000 Jenny Invert sheets. Linn's also gave prominent attention to Robinson's interview.

Linn's editor Charles Snee was asked to share his insights about the upright Jenny Invert sheet in the Collecting Culture feature: "Charles Snee, editor of Linn’s Stamp News, has followed the stamp community’s reactions to the upright Jenny. 'Outside of the hobby circle, the interest has been more positive,' Snee says. 'Anytime stamps get attention outside of the philatelic community as this one has, that’s a good thing for the hobby.'

"Will people be talking about the upright Jenny in the same way they refer to the original Inverted Jenny? 'There’s no doubt it’ll be a permanent part of U.S. stamp hobby lore,' Snee says — with Robinson a key player in keeping the spirit of the Jenny story alive."
