Balpex stamp show changes venue and month in 2024

The Baltimore Philatelic Society announced in late November that it is moving both the date and venue for its 2024 show. The move is a result of the show venue closing after more than 50 years of hosting Balpex.

The next Balpex stamp show is scheduled for Oct. 25-27, 2024, at the BWI Airport Marriott, 1743 W. Nursery Road, Linthicum Heights, Md.

On a personal note, I am glad the show isn’t on Labor Day weekend anymore. It might make it easier for others to travel to as a result. Also, the venue at the airport makes it easier to get to for those flying in for the show.

Balpex 2024 is planning a few additional events before and during the show.

A two-day postal history symposium is planned for Wednesday and Thursday (Oct. 23-24) prior to Balpex 2024.

The American Topical Association is tentatively planning an event related to its 75th anniversary in 2024.

The United Postal Stationery Society will host its 2024 convention during the show.

In addition to a bourse (sales area) with stamp dealers, the show will include dealers selling ephemera (collectible paper).

Balpex is an American Philatelic Society World Series of Philately show. The multiframe grand award winner will qualify to compete in the Champion of Champions exhibition at the Great American Stamp Show in Schaumburg, Ill., Aug. 14-17, 2025.

The single-frame grand award winner may compete at the Chicagopex show in Itasca, Ill., Nov. 21-23, 2025.
