On May 20, the United States Postal Service announced issue dates and first-day ceremony locations for 11 issues in its 2024 stamp program. The stamps will debut from July through October.

A new series of low-denomination stamps picturing flowers will arrive July 18 with no ceremony in Berkeley, Calif. The 1¢, 2¢, 3¢, 5¢ and 10¢ stamps picture a fringed tulip, daffodils, peonies, red tulips and poppies, respectively. All five stamps will be issued in panes of 20 and coil rolls of 10,000.

On July 31, a stamp honoring baseball great Henry “Hank” Aaron will be issued in Atlanta.

Aaron played for both the Atlanta Braves and the Milwaukee Brewers. On July 31, the Atlanta Braves will be playing against the Milwaukee Brewers in Milwaukee. July 31 also marks the 55th anniversary of Aaron passing Mickey Mantle’s record for career home runs.

The Dungeons & Dragons stamp will be issued Aug. 1 in Indianapolis. The date and location coincide with the first day of Gen Con Indy 2024, an annual gaming convention founded in 1967 by Dungeons & Dragons co-creator Gary Gygax. The 2024 show will take place at the Indiana Convention Center Aug. 1-4.

The May 20 USPS press release confirmed the widely reported issue dates and location for the Pinback Buttons and Autumn Colors stamps, which will be issued Aug. 15 and Aug. 16, respectively, at the Great American Stamp Show in Hall AB of the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, Conn.

The first of five issues to be released in September will be a forever stamp recognizing the 250th anniversary of the First Continental Congress. A ceremony will be held in Philadelphia on Sept. 5.

The First Continental Congress convened in Carpenters’ Hall in Philadelphia on Sept. 5, 1774. The stamp features a famous quote from the congress’ protest letter to King George III of England, “We ask but for Peace, Liberty and Safety.”

Among the holiday issues, a Christmas Madonna and Child forever stamp and four Holiday Joy forever stamps, will arrive Sept. 14 in Washington, D.C. A Hanukkah stamp also will be issued Sept. 14 in Washington. The Postal Service’s 10th stamp celebrating the annual pan-African holiday of Kwanzaa will be issued Sept. 25 in Pittsburgh.

The last U.S. stamp issue for 2024 is scheduled to be released Oct. 10. On that day, the USPS will issue the block of four Winter Whimsy stamps with no ceremony in Park City, Utah.
