Pipex 2024, a World Series of Philately show, will be held May 3-5 at the Monarch Hotel and Conference Center, 12566 SE 93rd Ave., in Clackamas, Ore.

The show is presented by Portland Philatelic Exhibitions on behalf of the Northwest Federation of Stamp Clubs. The sponsoring societies are Oregon Stamp Society and Salem Stamp Society.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission and parking are free.

The show includes approximately 30 dealer booths and 200 frames of exhibits.

All exhibits for Pipex 2024 will be mounted physically in frames at the show and will be judged in the frames. Exhibitors are encouraged also to submit their exhibits virtually, to be posted on the Pipex website.

Because Pipex is an American Philatelic Society World Series of Philately show, the multiframe grand award winner is eligible for the Champion of Champions competition at the Great American Stamp Show in Hartford, Conn., Aug. 15-18.

The Pipex 2024 single-frame grand award winner will be eligible for the single-frame championship at the Chicagopex show Nov. 22-24 in Itasca, Ill.

An awards banquet will take place Saturday evening. The judges include chairman Ken Nilsestuen, Frederick Lawrence, Colin Fraser, Jan Hofmeyr and Michael Bloom.

The Northwest Federation of Stamp Clubs will conduct its annual general meeting at the show on Saturday. Society for Czechoslovak Philately, Rhodesian Study Circle, Military Postal History Society and Auxiliary Markings Club are among the other groups and societies that will meet.

The theme of this year’s Pipex is the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Cacheted covers with a special cancellation will be available at the show while supplies last.

Grandma’s Attic will offer free, no obligation advice to those who want to learn about inherited stamp albums or talk to people who know about stamps.
