Jun 17, 2014, 6 AM

The American Stamp Dealers Association reports that stamps and covers have been stolen “from a returned shipment from expertization.”

The missing items comprise classic postmarked issues of Bavaria and postmarked material from Thurn and Taxis.

The Bavarian items include several single stamps (some on piece), a vertical pair of the 3-kreuzer postage due on piece, three 1kr postage dues together on a horizontal printed piece, a horizontal strip of five of the 9kr yellow green with clear “41” closed millwheel cancels, and a small number of covers.

The missing stamps of Thurn and Taxis are singles and pairs, including a ¼ silbergroschen horizontal pair on piece, and several covers.

The material can be viewed online.
