New El Salvador handbook from Collectors Club of Chicago

The Collectors Club of Chicago announces the publication of their latest handbook: The Prestamp Period of El Salvador (1525-1866) by Guillermo F. Gallegos and Joseph D. Hahn. Hardbound with Dust Jacket, 286pp.

The Prestamp Period of El Salvador spans the period from the 1530s to 1867, when the first postage stamps were issued. It is the longest period in the postal history of the country, and it is deeply intertwined with the postal history of sister countries in Central America, as El Salvador was first part of the Kingdom of Guatemala, and then of the Central American Federation, until its breakup in 1839.

The handbook is published in an edition limited to 300 copies. It is an exceptional original research reference with respect to understanding the postal operations of all of early Spanish America, and not only El Salvador, although the book is devoted to that postal history-rich Central American country.

The handbook is priced at $80. Postpaid prices are $85 within the U.S. via Media Mail; $103 for Canada; and $106 for all other overseas areas via International Priority Mail.
