May 20, 2015, 3 PM

Thailand Post with the help of Canan Marketing (Thailand) Co. Ltd. produced a pane of stamps and labels to benefit vicitims of the April 25 earthquake in Nepal. The pane sells for 120 baht, with half of that going to the Red Cross of Nepal.

Thailand Post issued a pane of stamps May 8 to help raise money for victims of the April 25 earthquake in Nepal. The 7.8-magnitude earthquake devastated much of Nepal, killing more than 8,000 people, injuring more than 17,000 and leaving thousands of more homeless.

Thailand Post reports that Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co. Ltd. supported the stamp pane for Nepal. This pane is part of Thailand Post's personalized stamp service. It contains 20 3-baht stamps picturing Thailand's flag and 20 labels showing photographs of Nepal, its people and its landmarks, all taken before the earthquake. The images from the photographs bleed over into the stamp designs, making each stamp different.

The pane will sell for 120b, with half of that, 60b, to be donated to quake victims through the Red Cross Society of Nepal.

English-language inscriptions on the pane include THAILAND "Post for Nepal" in the upper selvage, with the names of the photographers and the Canon logo in the selvage below the stamps. Among the photographers are national artist Woranan Chachawanthipakorn and writer-activist Chiranan Pitpreecha.

The pane can be ordered through Thailand Post's web shop.
