Day four at Europhilex: Dealers and collectors say show a 'success'

Europhilex London 2015 held its fourth and final day today, Saturday, May 16.

Both dealers and collectors expressed their feelings that the show was a success.

"I had a wonderful time. Found an item I had long searched for to add to my collection," said a collector from Germany.

One dealer said the show and his sales were "good, in fact, very good."

John Horsey, mentioned in my report from the show yesterday for his exhibit of the Great Britain classic £5 orange Queen Victoria telegraph and postage stamps, was awarded a vermeil medal by the judges.

One of the philatelic treasures on display by the British Postal Museum & Archive at Europhilex was the plaster cast of the Machin head.

In 1966, Arnold Machin sculpted the profile of Queen Elizabeth II for the then-new definitive series that has become known to collectors as the Machins. The series is currently in its 48th year.
