Mickey, Minnie Mouse, Pluto and more arrive on France’s new Youth series stamp issued Oct. 9 for the 100-year anniversary of the Walt Disney Co.

La Poste’s green-letter, €1.16 stamp comes in a booklet of 10. The offset printing of the stamp is superimposed on a silver background to create a screened metal effect.

The stamp was designed by Valerie Besser, who will host a signing session on Oct. 6 at the Carre d’Encre philatelic boutique in Paris.

In addition, Elsa, Pocahontas, Belle and other friends appear on different La Poste stamps issued in a booklet of 12 on Sept. 4. Each of these green-rate stamps features a character from the following Disney movies: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, The Jungle Book, The Aristocats, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Ratatouille and Frozen. The designs come from the Arobace firm for Disney.

The Walt Disney Co. has been celebrating the milestone throughout the year all over the world. It all began in 1923, when brothers Walt and Roy Disney founded Disney Brothers Studio on Oct. 16.

“From humble beginnings as a cartoon studio in the early 1920s to the Company of today — which includes Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Searchlight Pictures, and 20th Century Studios, along with Disney Parks and Resorts around the globe — Disney continues to provide timeless entertainment for the entire family,” D23, the official Disney fan club, said.
