New Howard Summers book profiles stamps in pop culture

Howard Summers's latest book is titled Stamps and Stamp Collecting in Popular Culture.

Howcom Services of Borehamwood, U.K., have just published a new book by Howard Summers titled Stamps and Stamp Collecting in Popular Culture.

This unique 401-page book describes literature (novels, short stories, poetry, comics), plays, films, television programmes, music, opera etc. which contain references or stories about stamps or philately.

Nonfiction films, documentaries, television and radio items are also listed along with TV news and newsreels reporting on stamps. There is a comprehensive stamp index.

The book’s coverage is worldwide with most entries for United States, Great Britain, France, Germany and Italy. The earliest entry is a play from 1839 and there is coverage of the British Guiana auction of 2014. There are over 2,800 entries in the book.

The book costs £45 plus postage and can be ordered online, where more information can be found.
